Exploring the effect of Parental Involvement on Academic Stress among Students By Dr. Cerena Aurin D’Cunha

Abstract

The present paper explores how parental involvement influences academic stress in students by an analysis of the different forms of engagement conducted by parents and their effects on students’ well-being and school achievement. On this matter, different dimensions of parental involvement are explored with regard to emotional support, monitoring academic activities, and communication in order to realize their consequence for the perceived level of stress among students. The result of this study would be able to give educators and parents an idea of how to go about creating an environment that is conducive to supporting learning; it may help in cutting down some of the stress students have been facing as a result of academic pressures. Ultimately, the research contributes to big picture understandings of how parental roles and behaviors may either mitigate or exacerbate levels of academic stress and holds practical implications for improving student mental health and academic outcomes.
