Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education is rapidly transforming learning environments, with a particular focus on enhancing metacognitive abilities among students. This survey- based study investigates the influence of AI- enhanced learning on metacognitive abilities among B.Ed. students. A sample of 200 B.Ed. students from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, stratified by age groups above and below 30, participated in the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire, focusing on student’s perception of AI’s role in fostering metacognitive abilities, with younger students showing a more favorable response. The study concludes that age plays a crucial role in shaping these perceptions, highlighting the need for tailored strategies to address the diverse needs of different age groups in educational settings. This research underscores the importance of understanding student perceptions to optimize the implementation of AI tools in education ,thereby enhancing metacognitive outcomes.
