Abstract
The NEP 2020 policy focuses on revamping and revising the current education system so as to prepare and equip the future generation with the skills to meet the needs of the constantly developing global world. Hence keeping this in mind the study conducted focused on investigating the perspectives of principals from educational institutions regarding the challenges faced in schools and the necessary changes needed to align with the goals of the NEP 2020 policy. The qualitative study utilized interviews with principals as the main data source, highlighting the importance of reevaluating the curriculum to meet current societal needs and providing proper training to teachers in areas such as technology and counselling. The study emphasized the significance of practical field experience, vocational education, enhancing teacher competence, promoting positive attitudes, utilizing information and communication technologies, addressing inclusive classroom issues, and instilling human and cultural values, life skills, and respect for diversity among students. These findings underscore the importance of adapting education programs to better prepare students for the evolving global landscape.
