A Study on Learning Styles in Relation to Academic Achievement in Science of Class VIII Students By Vidhyashree P. and Dr. Seema P. V.

Abstract

Learning, a complex process in nature, is one of the key components of education. Learning is based on each person’s unique learning style, individual as its own way of method and preferences for learning new information. The present study adopted a survey method to identify the preference in learning styles, namely visual, auditory and kinesthetic among the VIII students. It also tried to find out the relation between the learning styles and Science Achievement. Findings concluded that auditory learning styles was preferred followed by kinesthetic and visual style among the students. It also showed a strong correlation between learning styles and science achievement.
