Abstract
This paper is discussing about the researches done in the field of folklore so far. This is an overall review of the research work done in this field. Most of the major works were in corporate for this study and classifying it as in two parts as early studies and current studies. Most of the current studies are done as the research work s in the universities; where as the earlier studies were conducted in various purposes. Even though the folklore field of Kerala is rich in research woks in various contexts and various formats.
