EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF STUDENT TEACHERS By V.Ravichandran and Dr. S. Rajaguru

Abstract

Intelligence is defined as general cognitive problem solving skills. A mental ability involved in reasoning, perceiving relationships and analogies, calculating, learning quickly etc. we describe what is known about how emotionally intelligent people function both intra and inter personally and in both academic and workplace settings. For the present study the investigator has used EQ scale. This research measures some areas of student teachers personal and professional life. This is psychological test which will help to student teachers learn more about his and herself. The objectives of the study was to find out the significance between EQ and selected variables such as gender, educational qualification, locality, teaching experience and discipline of student teachers at B.Ed. level in Coimbatore district. For which 150 samples has been taken by adopting stratified random sampling technique. The result shows that there is no significant between overall Emotional intelligence with gender, educational qualification, locality, teaching experience and discipline of student teachers.
