Abstract

This paper is an attempt to explore the role of tourism in bringing rural empowerment and to probe the opportunities of rural tourism entrepreneurship in Karnataka; rural tourism can help in shaping our society. It can have advantages on rural as well as urban communities. There is a scope of rural entrepreneurship through tourism in Karnataka. The government should encourage Private enterprises to promote tourism in rural areas. For developing the rural tourism we need to understand the rural environment, and socio-culture, economic, historical background of those places. How we can involve the rural entrepreneurship to enhance their socio-economic condition. To develop a strategic plan for rural entrepreneurship we have to understand the rural tourism resources and it’s needs and wants and how to match it with our rural infrastructure and challenges in the future to make successful utilization of rural resources for the empowerment of the state.
